Here’s what he says about himself:
“I decided not to write this in the third person as is customary. After all, it’s just me sitting here. So here goes:
I am a 34 year old cartoonist/plumber living in Minneapolis, MN. My work is mostly in comics because they are so much fun, so dynamic and also accessible to so many people. Sometimes I get confused about why everyone is not crazy about comics…but anyway, that’s for another time and place.
In my work I am trying to combine good writing, appealing art and interesting design. In my first collection of stories, I was bent on doing stories that were deep. Now I am more interested in doing stories that are fun and/or weird (see “RAMPAGE!”)
Right now I am writing and drawing cartoons on a regulars basis, and getting tips and fellowship at the International Cartoonists Conspiracy — Minneapolis cell. My work is being shown in local galleries, which I see as a VERY exciting, natural, but largely unexplored, venue for comics. I also participate in local art shows a few times a year.
I am a comics’ promoter and enthusiast. Drop me a line anytime and have fun out there.”

Recently, Julie and Jesse went off to Lakeville for Level I Reiki training.
What is Reiki? Good question. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It can be hands-on or hands-off, but it’s along the lines of a “laying on of hands”. The idea is that the practitioner is bringing new energy to you, and helping your chakras open and spin smoothly. If that makes no sense to you, we’ll just say that it’s a very gentle form of therapeutic touch, your are clothed and relaxing and holding an intention in your mind; and the practitioner works along your body bringing new warmth to each area.
Julie wrote a first blurb about the training on her blog which you can read here.
Curious? Want to try it? See either Jess or Julie for a Reiki session for only $45, through the end of the year. The session is about an hour, maybe a little longer. We’d love to have you try it and hear what you think!
